The Canadian Horticultural Council’s Labour Committee Executive has released a fact sheet to address some of the myths and misconceptions about the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP).
The fact sheet, 10 Myths vs Reality, can be used by growers and member associations across Canada to speak in a coordinated voice about SAWP.
“There are some falsehoods being spread in the media about SAWP and Canada’s horticulture industry,” says CHC Labour Committee Chair, Murray Porteous. “This fact sheet is one way our industry can help tell the truth about SAWP. We need members and growers to use and share this fact sheet and its message to help people understand the reality and benefit of SAWP.”
