In the fall of 2018, the PMRA set out to meet with stakeholders across Canada to seek feedback on the current and future state of the re-evaluation program. As the workload of the PMRA’s re-evaluation program increases, the PMRA is introducing improvements and efficiencies in order to improve the programs overall sustainability.

The report summarizes the stakeholder consultations done in the fall of 2018. Feedback was categorized under four main themes:

  1. Stakeholder Engagement and Transparency in Re-evaluations
  2. Initiation and Prioritization of Re-evaluations
  3. Scientific Assessment and Risk Management in Re-evaluations
  4. Alternative Models for Re-evaluation

The information provided will inform recommendations to develop a sustainable re-evaluation program that continues to protect human health and the environment, but is also efficient and streamlined from a stakeholder and regulator perspective.
