“Without international farm workers, there would be no Canadian fruit and vegetable production.”
CHC’s Labour Awareness Campaign is a celebration of international farm workers in Canada. Most Canadians never think about how food gets onto our tables, or the critical role played by the men and women who work in the fields and greenhouses. Our campaign seeks to change all that. We have travelled across Canada and documented heartwarming stories about workers and the farmers who employ them − we will even be going down to Jamaica later this month to hear from the families of the workers themselves.
Please “like” and share
We believe these types of stories need to be told – and that Canadians need to hear them. We recently released our first video (featuring Josh and Anthony of TapRoot Farms, Nova Scotia) and it is already getting an incredible amount of attention on social media. Please support it even further by sharing the video to your relevant networks. You can find it here:
Upcoming videos
The video featuring Josh and Anthony is the first of 20 that we will be releasing incrementally over the next six months. We will also be launching a feature-length documentary in the new year accompanied by a special screening in Ottawa. We will be finalizing those details shortly and will let you know how you can participate.
