Owning Our Future

The Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada’s (FVGC) Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) is where growers, industry leaders, and partners from across the country come together to address key issues, share insights, and shape the future of Canada’s fruit and vegetable sector. The 2026 Conference and AGM will take place in Ottawa, from March 9 to 12, 2026, at The Westin Ottawa.

Theme: Owning Our Future

The Canadian fruit and vegetable sector stands at a crossroads, influenced by shifting markets, chronic labour shortages, evolving technologies, and unprecedented weather events. Yet within these challenges lies opportunity.

This year’s conference marks a pivotal moment for FVGC as the organization completes a comprehensive strategic review designed to strengthen the link between member priorities and national influence. But this renewal extends beyond FVGC itself; it reflects the broader need for a diverse sector to unite around a shared purpose and common vision.

Owning Our Future captures that collective commitment. The 2026 Conference will call on growers, partners, and policymakers to work together toward a more resilient, competitive, and forward-looking sector, one that takes ownership of its economic strength, environmental stewardship, and critical role in ensuring Canada’s food security.

Together, we will turn reflection into renewal — ensuring the future of Canada’s fruit and vegetable sector is not just anticipated, but owned by those who grow it.
