Ottawa (Ontario) \u2013 le 2 novembre 2026 \u2013 L'annonce faite vendredi dernier par Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada (AAC) concernant le lancement du Programme D\u00e9marche de croissance de l\u2019agriculture en environnement contr\u00f4l\u00e9 (AEC),<\/a> dot\u00e9 d'un budget de 750 millions de dollars, est une excellente nouvelle pour le secteur des fruits et l\u00e9gumes au Canada, selon les Producteurs de fruits et l\u00e9gumes du Canada et l\u2019Alliance canadienne des fruits et l\u00e9gumes de serre (ACFLS).<\/p>\n

\u00c9l\u00e9ment cl\u00e9 de la Strat\u00e9gie nationale de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire<\/a>de 3,2 milliards de dollars r\u00e9cemment annonc\u00e9e par le gouvernement, le Programme D\u00e9marche de croissance de l'AEC est con\u00e7u pour promouvoir une production nationale accrue de fruits et l\u00e9gumes, r\u00e9duire la d\u00e9pendance \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard des produits import\u00e9s et soutenir un syst\u00e8me alimentaire plus r\u00e9silient et adapt\u00e9 aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s locales.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Les PFLC ont longtemps affirm\u00e9 que la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire repose sur la capacit\u00e9 du Canada \u00e0 cultiver des aliments, ici chez nous, et \u00e0 soutenir un secteur de production alimentaire nationale qui soit solide, r\u00e9silient et concurrentiel \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Stephen Heckbert, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des PFLC. \u00ab L\u2019annonce d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui aidera les producteurs canadiens en serre \u00e0 accro\u00eetre leur productivit\u00e9 pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e et offrir aux Canadiens un acc\u00e8s fiable \u00e0 des produits d'ici frais, sains et abordables. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Le financement sera r\u00e9parti en deux volets :<\/p>\n

Volet Adoption des technologies d\u2019agriculture en environnement contr\u00f4l\u00e9 (650 millions de dollars) : aide les producteurs \u00e0 adopter, \u00e0 \u00e9tendre et \u00e0 moderniser les infrastructures et les technologies d\u2019AEC (c.-\u00e0-d. l\u2019automatisation, la robotique, l\u2019\u00e9clairage et les outils de culture num\u00e9riques).<\/p>\n

Volet Augmentation de la production alimentaire locale dans les collectivit\u00e9s rurales et nordiques (100 millions de dollars) : soutient les solutions d'AEC men\u00e9es par les communaut\u00e9s qui renforcent la production alimentaire locale et r\u00e9gionale, favorisent l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des aliments frais et consolident la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire dans les communaut\u00e9s rurales et nordiques.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Le fait de travailler aupr\u00e8s des communaut\u00e9s locales dans le besoin sera notre priorit\u00e9 alors que nous cherchons \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire des communaut\u00e9s rurales et nordiques \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Heckbert.<\/p>\n

Par l'entremise du Programme, AAC offre un financement allant de 10 000 \u00e0 10 millions de dollars pour soutenir l'adoption de technologies d'agriculture en environnement contr\u00f4l\u00e9 (AEC) et de solutions locales de production alimentaire partout au Canada.<\/p>\n
