OTTAWA (Ontario) \u2013 Les Producteurs de fruits et l\u00e9gumes du Canada (PFLC) saluent l\u2019annonce faite aujourd\u2019hui par Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada (AAC) concernant le lancement prochain du Fonds de liaison alimentaire de 1 milliard de dollars, pierre angulaire de la Strat\u00e9gie nationale de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire de 3,2 milliards de dollars du gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral.<\/div>\n

Les PFLC plaident depuis des ann\u00e9es en faveur de l\u2019int\u00e9gration d\u2019une perspective alimentaire dans le processus d\u00e9cisionnel du gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral et de la protection de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire de tous les Canadiens. Le Fonds, en investissant dans des infrastructures essentielles, stimulera la concurrence et renforcera le r\u00e9seau de distribution alimentaire du pays. Les fruits et l\u00e9gumes circuleront plus facilement du producteur au consommateur, et les Canadiens auront un meilleur acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des fruits et l\u00e9gumes abordables, sains et cultiv\u00e9s localement, partout au pays.<\/div>\n
\u00ab La s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire ne peut \u00eatre tenue pour acquise, et il est essentiel que le Canada garantisse la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l\u2019approvisionnement en fruits et l\u00e9gumes cultiv\u00e9s au pays \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Stephen Heckbert, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des PFLC. \u00ab L\u2019annonce d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui envoie un message clair : le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral reconna\u00eet la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019un secteur des fruits et l\u00e9gumes frais r\u00e9silient, concurrentiel et durable. \u00bb<\/div>\n

Les deux principaux volets du Fonds de liaison alimentaire sont le Fonds des march\u00e9s de produits alimentaires et le Programme de carrefours alimentaires. En soutenant l\u2019optimisation et l\u2019expansion des march\u00e9s d\u2019aliments en gros, le Fonds des march\u00e9s de produits alimentaires offrira aux producteurs et aux entreprises alimentaires de nouveaux march\u00e9s pour vendre et se procurer des produits en dehors des syst\u00e8mes d\u2019approvisionnement monopolis\u00e9s par les grands d\u00e9taillants. Gr\u00e2ce au soutien \u00e0 la mise en \u0153uvre et au d\u00e9veloppement de carrefours alimentaires r\u00e9gionaux partout au Canada, le Programme de carrefours alimentaires donnera aux entreprises de transformation d\u2019aliments l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux infrastructures d\u2019entreposage, de transformation et de distribution ainsi qu\u2019aux relations commerciales dont elles ont besoin pour approvisionner les collectivit\u00e9s en aliments locaux.<\/div>\n

\u00ab Les producteurs canadiens de fruits et l\u00e9gumes subissent des pressions consid\u00e9rables et affrontent des difficult\u00e9s financi\u00e8res et environnementales sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Heckbert. \u00ab Nos membres accueillent favorablement l\u2019attention que porte le Fonds de liaison alimentaire au renforcement des infrastructures de distribution alimentaire et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tablissement de nouveaux liens entre les producteurs et les march\u00e9s, tout en augmentant la productivit\u00e9 et en \u00e9liminant les co\u00fbts superflus. \u00bb<\/div>\n

La p\u00e9riode officielle d\u2019admission des demandes pour le Fonds de liaison alimentaire d\u00e9butera le 14 octobre 2026 et durera huit semaines, jusqu\u2019au 11 d\u00e9cembre 2026. Pour \u00eatre pris en compte, les demandeurs doivent d\u2019abord soumettre une d\u00e9claration d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat. Apr\u00e8s examen, ceux dont les demandes r\u00e9pondent aux crit\u00e8res du Fonds seront ensuite invit\u00e9s \u00e0 soumettre une proposition d\u00e9taill\u00e9e.<\/div>\n
