With increasing recognition by the federal government of the importance of food security and sector resilience, FVGC used the opportunity to reinforce the need for targeted policy solutions to support Canadian growers.<\/p>\n<p>On June 3, the Board met with Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Heath MacDonald and Deputy Minister Lawrence Hanson for a focused discussion on sector challenges, including sustainability, labour shortages, and the importance of ensuring a reliable supply of fresh produce for Canadians.<\/p>\n<p>Additional meetings took place with Parliamentarians, including MP David Epp, MP Scot Davidson, MP Yves Perron, MP Kody Blois, Senator Rob Black, and Senator Todd Lewis.
