Admire\u00ae, Merit\u2122, Genesis\u2122)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canadian Horticultural Council (CHC) is currently consulting its members about a recent proposal by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) to phase-out all agricultural uses of imidacloprid. CHC will submit a response to the federal government\u2019s proposal based on the results of this consultation.<\/p>\n<p>Imidacloprid, which is found in such pesticides as Admire\u00ae, Merit\u2122, and Genesis\u2122, is used in a wide range of horticultural crops, including stone fruit, berries, and leafy, tuberous and legume vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>PMRA\u2019s environmental assessment showed that, based on currently available information, the continued high volume use of imidacloprid in agricultural areas is not sustainable.
