Facebook won, hands down. So, we made it a priority to get a Facebook page up and running where we could share good news about farmers, farm workers, and agriculture.<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 150%; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hortcouncil\/\">Visit our Facebook page<\/a><\/strong><\/div>\n<h2>Lots of engagement<\/h2>\n<p>Every day, people are liking, sharing, and commenting on our stories. Since we launched in July, we already have over 2,100 page likes. We are seeing our community grow and are thrilled by its level of engagement. Typically, a decent level of interaction on an organization\u2019s Facebook page is around 3-5% (post clicks + reactions + shares + comments, versus number of people reached). <strong>CHC often achieves over four times that amount!<\/strong> For example, our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hortcouncil\/photos\/a.467025913711740\/596333914114272\">recent post about a couple of brothers working together in the Okanagan<\/a> currently has an engagement rate of <strong>16% <\/strong>(see bottom of article for post).<\/p>\n<h3>Facebook page metrics since July, 2018:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Over<strong> 2,100 <\/strong>people have &#8220;liked&#8221; our page<\/li>\n<li>Over <strong>62,000 <\/strong>people have seen our content<\/li>\n<li>Users have commented over<strong> 205 <\/strong>times<\/li>\n<li><strong>16%<\/strong>\u00a0of people reached interact with our content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Be a part of it<\/h2>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t checked out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hortcouncil\/\">our Facebook page<\/a> yet, now\u2019s the perfect time to do so. There are conversations taking place <em>right now<\/em> that you might be interested in. And don\u2019t forget to \u201clike\u201d our page for updates. The more people who get involved and share our content, the greater an impact we will have.<\/p>\n<h2>Labour campaign<\/h2>\n<p>Our Facebook presence is an important platform on which to roll out our labour awareness campaign. This campaign, launching shortly, is made up of about 20 short videos and a long-format documentary that illustrate the mutually beneficial relationship that international farm workers have with their employers. A thriving Facebook community will help us carry the message to people across the country.
