{"id":25481,"date":"2018-06-21T12:43:10","date_gmt":"2018-06-21T16:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hortcouncil.ca\/?p=25481"},"modified":"2018-06-21T12:43:10","modified_gmt":"2018-06-21T16:43:10","slug":"funding-is-available-to-improve-accessibility-and-safety-in-your-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fvgc.ca\/fr\/2018\/06\/21\/funding-is-available-to-improve-accessibility-and-safety-in-your-workplace\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding is available to improve accessibility and safety in your workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We wish to inform you of a current funding opportunity under the Government of Canada\u2019s Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF).<\/p>\n<p>Your business or organization could receive a grant of up to $100,000 through the EAF program to improve accessibility and safety in your workplace for current or future employees with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The EAF program funds workplace projects which help remove barriers to accessibility through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the construction, renovation or retrofit of workplaces, which could include the construction of access ramps and accessible offices and washrooms and the installation of elevators; and<\/li>\n<li>the provision of accessible information and communication technologies for work use such as braille printers, accessible computer software, and visual alarm systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can apply for EAF funding until July 26, 2018, if you are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a business with 99 full-time equivalent employees or less;<\/li>\n<li>a not-for-profit organization;<\/li>\n<li>a municipality with a population under 125,000 as per the 2016 census data;<\/li>\n<li>an Indigenous organization (including band councils, tribal councils and self-government entities); or<\/li>\n<li>a territorial government.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The EAF is currently accepting grant funding applications for projects that will increase accessibility in workplaces and community spaces across Canada.
